Actually, it will do 24fps. While it lacks TrueHD, it does support uncompressed PCM 48kHz/24bit audio.
"The BDP-S300 also has a couple of additional enthusiast-friendly features. One is the ability to output at 24 frames per second, which some claim can minimize judder when used with a compatible display (i.e. a display with a refresh rate that's an even multiple of 24)."

I've got one of these on order too. I've got mine on order from Scan at ?155 ex VAT, so you've got a good deal there, when I looked at Play they were dearer, but I see they are ?145 delivered now!!!
BTW, Scan are showing stock arrival tomorrow (Friday 21st), so if they get it out of the door it may even arrive in time for xmas day.
Just hoping my aging media PC will cope now, it's a dual core 3.0ghz (830) with a GeForce 6600GT, bit old hat now, but hopefully it will be ok. Problem is I don't think my media PC case will take a graphics card that's any bigger, the 8800GTX I have in my desktop is HUGE...

Just noticed this one which is a BD-Rewriter for only ?40 more. I haven't ordered one yet, am working out what I want to do first in terms of either upgrading what I have or building from scratch ...

Does the PS3 decode TrueHD? If this player (s300) supports PCM, does that mean if I hook it up to a receiver that decodes TrueHD that I will hear TrueHD via my audio receiver? I prefer that way anyways.

Throw a cheap 8500GT with HDCP into it. If you run Vista, the card will do all the H.264 decoding - relieving your aging PC. I have this card, it's passively cooled which is nice for a home theater.

How do you like your Sony 60" LCD XBR2 SXRD? I'm thinking of upgrading our 50" Panasonic plasma (moving it to the master br) and moving the 42" Panasonic plasma to my 5 yo. br. I also have a HT-PC connected to the 50", so I think the move to LCD would result in better quality.

Have you visited AVSforum.com? If not, you should. I'm on that forum all the time.
Anyway, I just got the LG BH200 Dual Player. Yes, it costs $1,000, but it's awesome! And it also plays audio in Dolby TrueHD And DTS-HD Master Audio. It also comes with an Ethernet port for firmware updates.
Personally, I suggest buying the dual player if you're not willing to wait for the format war to end (which who knows will be when...).
Lastly, Samsung is coming out with their dual player (BD-UP5000) in mid-January to early February. Suggested retail is also $1000.
My Home Theater consists of my Sony 60" LCD XBR2 SXRD and the picture quality in 1080p is mind blowing. I personally think Blu-Ray is better, but if there's a title that I want to view in 1080p and it's only in HD DVD format, I'm happy to know I can still watch it.
PS - Crutchfield sells the LG BH200 for $800 right now. They're the cheapest, but they're out of stock.

Have you seen this TV by Sony? I've seen it in person and it's mind boggling how good this picture is, but then again, the price tag is just nuts! Hahaha!

PS - Last night, I had some friends over and we watched the Bourne Ultimatum in Blu-Ray in my theater room with this TV. They all said it was better than being in an actual theater and couldn't believe how amazing the picture quality was. Of course, the Blu-Ray makes a huge difference but the display on this TV is just outstanding. You can't go wrong. Get it!
