To get off there lazy a$$'s and write me a ticket for my tinted window and smoked tail lights... Anyhow, I heard that it is possible to pay a small fine and keep the "infractions" on my car. Does anyone know if there is truth behind this statement?

Also there used to be a police officer on these boars right? Is he still active? Is there asn easy way out for me?

Well whatever, I guess worst comes to worst and I have to actually take off the tiniting to get it signed off. I can re-tint it with 25% instead of 35% and finally have my rear and front windows matching..

Thanks Guys.

Sometimes when you go in the police station to have a fix-it ticket signed off, they just go ahead and sign without ever looking at your car. Then you'd feel bad for spending the money/time taking them off.

This will not be the case in Irvine because they love to write people fix-it tickets. They feel good about themselves and they feel they've done the community justice by hassling kids with nicer cars than they drive. I've gotten several tint tickets in Irvine with my previous car (mind you that was the only thing they pulled me over for and nothing else).

Chase, you're gonna have to find a friend who's in law enforcement to sign off your ticket if you want to keep the tints on. If you cannot find a friend, it's gonna cost you like $15 to get it inspected. They will not sign you off unless you've corrected what you were written up for. The fix-it ticket itself is a $10 fine for first offense + all the time you waste standing in line at the courts. Each following offense increases the fine exponentially.

If you're gonna get your windows re-tinted, go with 55%. That's what I have on mine and it's not too light, but not too dark. I've gotten pulled over once already for tints, but I also didn't have my front plate on either.

Good luck bro!

John, no where is safe in Irvine. Especially near UCI and especially if it's a female officer.

One time I had two female officers in two black & whites roll up on me when I had my Accord. It was about 2 in the morning and I was pulling out of the Ralph's parking lot on Harvard/Main and they pulled me over just because I had some superwhite bulbs in my sidemarkers. They pulled me over literally 15 ft after I came out of the driveway.

For the windows, just roll it down and tell an officer you removed the tint.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

The most cost effective way is to find an officer friend who'll write off the ticket for you. There might be some on this board but they might also get mad at this idea and go hunting for you instead. hahahaha
