Well, I am back home and - yes - I told them the entire network needs to be redesigned or they will continue to have intermittent routing issues (that happens when you have class A,B, and C addresses on the same subnet ). I will have to come back and help them sort the remaining issues once they redesign the network logically.
i'm wondering what you did to fix that issue since i've have not worked with a company with 120 switches and 6000 nodes. its been a while since i've worked with switches/routers though(i got my CCNA back in 03).

forreals? why would they do that? doesnt that defeat the purpose of subnetting?

All I did was fix the switching and (some) of the routing issues they have, I told them until the network is redesigned and addressed properly they will continue to have intermittent routing problems. Dumbasses thought I was kidding and wondered if I could help them fix it (I was thinking - "your fuck up, you fix it")

BTW, I think our network is upwards of 3000 switches and/or routers at 250ish locations, with over 20,000 PCs, 1500 servers, and a few 1000 printers. Who knows how many wireless devices & IP phones also communicate over it.

Even I know not to put multiple address classes on the same subnet and all I had was a week of TCP/IP training back in '98 IIRC.
