Why would you say court is the last option? Because its not over a higher dollar item? While I would like to get my money back, I would almost love more to see the guy scared and have justice. I don't think he believes I would take him to court with my lawyer over such a thing, but I would. That sucks man. Coincidentally I just bought a used Xbox360 from Craigslist.org. My original Xbox360 got banned and I needed a new one. (For Modern Warfare 2).
I had the guy come over, we tested it and I can sign on and play the game and we were good.
I think your best bet is call the police first, the court.
And if that fails, go to his house and destroy him!!!

small claims court or just chalk it up and move on. as a last ditch effort, call his dad and try to work it out. sounds like he is used to his son being a low life and has to bail him out before.

Phil, I'm not quite sure the cops would really care to support your case. What you could do is:
I'm sure he has more listings on Craigslist for xboxes, so you could use one of those as proof and take him to court. Otherwise I don't see the sense in going through too much trouble for $170. I know its not a small amount, but think of the hassle you might go through. Good luck!
