Is Roundel just fanboy propaganda or is it really objective (the competition included) and worth joining BMW CCA to get it?

It's a BMW enthusiasts magazine. You can read that as a fan-boy magazine but it really isn't. It has been highly critical of BMW at times. And you'll get a heathy dose of those who like/hate Chris Bangle as well as iDrive/non-iDrive and my personal favorite topic ... transmission choices. The magazine is worth the price of joining the BMWCCA but you also get discounts on parts and labor at most dealers plus owner loyalty rebates and meet ups with others in your area for workshops, events, and drives.

100% agree with ImolaRedM. Roundel is absolutely excellent. It's one of the best BMW magazines available and I think the editorial team go to great lengths to maintain independence and balance. Well worth the price of membership of the BMW CCA on its own.

I also agree, as a longstanding member of BMWCCA, I heartily suggest it to everyone here, as it offers many perks along with a monthly magazine that is full of invaluable information. Membership also entitles you to rebates from BMW when you purchase a new or CPO BMW. All in all, it is the best $40 you'll spend this year.

Club membership and Roundel are well worth the yearly dues. Its a great magazine. As a group, the columnists are superb. Satch Carlson can teach anyone how to write an automotive column. My only complaint is the incessant, knee-jerk, anti-iDrive rants. But that's something all e60 drivers learn to line with.

The Roundel is just one of the benefits of becoming a BMW CCA member. One of the biggest benefits is the Membership Rewards Program, if you plan on buying a new or CPO model from a BMW dealer. The reward consists of a rebate from BMW NA that is between $500 and $1,500, depending on which model you buy. I received a check for $500 when I bought my CPO E60. That alone will pay for several years of membership.
The magazine is pretty objective. They include comparisons with other manufacturer like Infinity, MB and Lexus. There is an excellent Tech Talk section. They have guest writers such as Steven Dinan and Richard Griot.

My dad is considering getting a 650i next year. If I become BMW CCA member, can he take advantage of my rebate? Or do I need to add him on as an associate member?

And does anyone want to provide me with their membership # so I can put them down as a referrer? Not sure if you guys get credit for it.
