Do you think the government will consistently, after each wipe-out by Mother Nature, rebuild New Orleans under the sea? Or do you think, after 5 or 6 $200 Billion dollar rebuilds, our government might rebuilt it about 12 miles inland? Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
My thoughts? Nothing happened, the hurricane haven't made a landfall yet and you are already complaining! Stop whining.

Lots of ignorance and insensitivity on this thread. I just evacuated to Germantown, hoping I still have my home to go back to (looks like I will). Nevertheless, some of you guys are

Again? Missed those sentiments in your initial post. Perhaps if you had opened your original comments with your concerns for people living there it would have come across better. Your comments, finally coming a bit late, don't exactly sound sincere.

No problem. You didn't miss my sentiments in my original post. I re-read it and there were no sentiments expressed. I was posting a question to the forum Lounge- not addressed to the citizens of NO. I take no umberage at your standing in judgment of the meaning of my post. That is what is so great about this Lounge. It is for the good exchange of thought and not for name calling.

Fair enough. I assume you'll offer the same exchange of thought about spending multi-billions in Los Angeles or San Francisco when the big one hits. I hope it never does but I look forward to your views on whether those cities should be repaired when more earthquakes are likely...

i think this has taken off to where it shouldnt have gone... it was a simple question.. i believe he was just thinking out loud.. not disrespecting any city or nationality or race... i believe his point was when is the government going to wake up and do something smart about it.. instead of blowing billions and billions of dollars over and over . i believe it was as simple as that.. we all care about what happens to the building or rebuilding as you can call it of new orleans.. no fighting! please and no name calling!
