yes, i see it in that position. As much as find "beaner" offensive, i assume "ricer" is not precisely a compliment to asians who analyze the term. I find it most offensive when someone says a car is "ricer" when a car is overequipped in bad taste, in my logic that would imply that he says that the car would mostly appeal to asians and that all asians have a taste for ridiculous cars.

JUST MY OPINION, might be a language thing only.

peace.

Not offensive because it says something about the car and it started on a honda forum. I never thought of asian people when I heared the term ricer.. I eat rice too and am not asian..

Rather eat small stones (fried with lot of butter anything is good ) than drive ricer!

It has been saying in Finland, I think, 40 years.

I don't see it this way.
For me it is not offensive at all.
It is not against Asians, it is just a word for "over-tuned" cars. Since the most "over-tuned" cars are Asian cars, they are called ricers, since rice is an Asian speciality. Anyways, it doesn't mean that all Asian cars are bad, nor does it mean that Asians are bad.
BTW, beeing German I don't feel offended when anybody calls Germans "Krauts"!

Oh man this kind of topic could get me in lots of trouble. I understand that people are different and have various opinions but to me I find it really funny! In the military there is zero tolerance for that kind of stuff. However, most people have worked with so many cultures that thise kind of comments don't bother most. Call me what you wish, I may not have heard it yet and will probably laugh with you.

Well, people from the south of Holland we refer to as 'spare Belgians'..

(Belgians are to the Dutch what Polish are to the Americans.)
