In motorcycle community, Japanese sportbikes are know to be called "ricer burners." I am sure some people will find this offensive, but as a Taiwanese with Japanese bike, I did not find it offensive.

Speaking of rice, I can eat it and eat it and never have gotten to the point where I didn't look forward to my next serving. I think that dates back to my Hoover chile days when all we had was grits and rice was reserved for Sunday -- sort of like ice cream. - Hey the smilies are not working for me! I had disabled java script!!

Rice or ricer is probably used because Asians tend to eat rice to go with a meal instead of bread. In less fortunate cultures rice would be the main course or staple because they can not afford excess meat or vegetables. The Japanese have built many autos, motorcycles, electronics etc.

Sony, or Panasonic TV's or digital cameras are never called ricers.

Maybe it's just a playa hata's term
