Finally, it is my view that a BMW dealer would have more happy customers if they didn't try to hide information from their customers. Unfortunately, I don't know any dealers who agree with my perspective.
but since I haven't found a dealer who agrees I searched the net for message boards. That's why I am here, to get the infos the dealer and BMW is hiding!
I am better informed, by reading this board, than a lot of BMW employees or the dealers are!

Great, Fred. I was afraid that we might stand to lose the valuable service that you are providing this forum. The information is valuable to Bimmer folks and prospective Bimmer folks.

If you have a copy of today's Wall Street Journal (here in the US) you can find an interesting article on BMW profits for 2nd quarter. They were up 18% globally. The article mentioned that it was considered to be a result of their agressive approach to introduction of new models. They attirbuted the recent July decrease in sales to low supply of the 8 and 12 cyl. models since there had been the recall on those.
They also attributed Mercedes as having a longer term pessimistic view of sales compared to BMW, in spite of Merc. sales this summer.
An interesting read.

Hello Fred !
I think you are doing an awesome job every month. The guys in this forum know that the place to argue and dispute the sales number for your report is over the other site ( bimmer.roadfly.org ).

#2: 2010 535xi Touring; Automatic.
I'm one of the July 545i manual sales! It's interesting for an owner to see how the model is doing. Resale matters to some owners (not me, because I'm going to keep mine forever), and sales figures help to keep an eye on whether people are warming to the new design. (Overall, I like it. I wish Pontiac didn't have so much of this 5's nose in its current Grand Prix; but that doesn't make me wish I had the Grand Prix.)

Good point Grand Prix tab545. Totally off subject, and I would never post this over on Roadfly, but yesterday my 3 yr old was with me when he saw a Grand Prix and said "look daddy, a car just like yours"! Ouch, those kids can be brutally honest sometimes. When he's old enough, I'll sit him down and explain the difference...
