I am by no means an Obama fan or apologist but... here are a few things to consider. The Republicans have historically been about small government and less spending. The last 8 years were nothing but Big Government and Drunken Spending ( AND not spending on domestic issues)! So the reform has to start somewhere... the spending can not be blamed on the new government... but at least the spending is directed towards its own citizens. I am also against socialist programs so my opinion on the new establishment is yet to be determined... but the above statement is completely ignorant. Emission standards should have been more progressive and started long before now. We are now paying the consequences of a short-sighted, industry influenced administration. The domestic auto industries has been killing themselves for years... The current economy or emission standards have nothing to do with it!! Anyone who thinks otherwise is just uninformed!

Yeah this is very true, the last 8 years very few republicans actually acted like republicans. I always thought they were act like druken sailors.

The current standards do not have anything to do with it you are correct, but this type of extreme change in this type of economy makes the already expensive domestic cars even more so. Do you see anyone paying $30,000 for a basic stock mustang? I sure as hell dont.

I can't take it anymore guys i am pissed, people are without a job, WTF on the congress ..why they are not helping small medium bussines ...$300 million for Amtrak capital needs $650 million for Digital-to-Analog Converter Box Program
do I have to pay for that ? tax
This thread states my belief to perfection. The only thing the government has over any of us is our tax dollar; without taxes none of the above is possible. I wonder what would happen if I stopped paying taxes............................................. ..............................
.................................................. ...............................
.................................................. ...............................

I would be able to be promoted to the U.S. Dept of Treasury

My father sold Ford's most his life. I bought Ford's most of my early life because of him... and every one was a POS and cost me and arm and a leg in repairs. Never again! Unless you agree to pay for my maintenance I will never feel guilty or apologize for not purchasing an inferior product! Plain and simple! Unless you are paying my bills... I have no allegiance except to what is the best and most affordable product for me and my family. This is where the domestic auto industry has failed.

Perfect, that is exactly what I want...a free country. Gov't has no business in these programs save the Military, CIA and FBI because they are in defense of our country.

Do you know that we went to war with the British to earn our freedom over a 3-5% tax increase?

I agree to a certain extent, I want to support being self sustaining in many regards of our economy but the big three have relied on congress for so long to protect them its got to the point of almost no return for them.

I read that they actually pay people who no longer work for them 80% of their salary as a retirement package? Thats just silly.

My friend bought a mustang for the same price of my 530i and he always wants to drive my car i feel bad but I cant help but laugh that someone would spend so much as you put it "an inferior" product.

Please look at the full post; "My delusions of grandeur have ended" . Of course taxes are a necessity, yada, yada, yada. I was trying to make a point about Geithner being selected to run the Treasury with his non-payment of tax issue.
Like I will see Social Security anyway ............and as far as the IRS  And the Post Office just announced they may need to deliver mail only five instead of six days a week (and the price of a stamp is going up soon); will my tax bill be lower due to one day less of service??????????

Dont fuck with the status quo of enjoyment otherwise people get pissed.

I think there should be some taxes but it needs to be a flat tax that applies across the board of a persons earning power. Not adjustable based on how much you make.
