The only thing the stimulus package is going to stimulate is the end of capitalism in America. It's not a stimulus package, it's a leftwing wish list of every commie leftarded social handout they couldn't get through in the last 20 years. This is an economic jihad and we are at the precipice of a meltdown.

And don't get me started on the death blow President Hussein delivered to the auto industry yesterday -- his new emission standards mean an additional $2,000 a vehicle. This is not the problem - energy is the problem. Getting off the jihad oil is the problem. Drilling and using our untapped resources is the answer.

And the racketeering ACORN is in the bill - the liars, crooks, and jokers are getting 4.1 billion.

BTW, the Dow is at new low
What does $50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts, $200 million to plant sod on the National Mall, $400 million for climate change research, and $200 million for contraception have to do with creating jobs?

"The Democrat bill won't stimulate anything but more government and more debt. The slow and wasteful spending in the House Democrat bill is a disservice to millions of Americans who want to see this Congress take immediate action to get this economy moving again.

Well they are basing off of californias standards, which is coming at a time where the american automakers are crippled. This might be the final nail in their coffin.

People want to go green, ok I get that but it always comes at a cost. Most people Want action but dont want to pay for it. Now we dont have a choice.

Amen Brotha!!!! Our country, economy and my my kids future is screwed if this bill makes it through the Senate. The only saving grace is that he GOP FINALLY made a smart move by unanimously opposing Pelosi-Reid-Obama Debt Plan so the President and the Dems will be forced to take full ownership of the largest spending bill in the history of our country.

$335 million to STD prevention. This is the only thing in the bill that has anything to do with "stimulation". Bwahahaha!! To bad you live in Canada Keith!!

Understood; your key statement above says it all: "Now we dont have a choice". Once again the government thinks we are not capable of making our own decisions.

Well its unfortunate that the republican party is so aloof they cant hold office without extreme criticism from the left.

We will see how well the automakers adjust to this, if they even survive it. As it was, they were making some of the most green and fuel efficient vehicles in the US.

I am by no means an Obama fan or apologist but... here are a few things to consider. The Republicans have historically been about small government and less spending. The last 8 years were nothing but Big Government and Drunken Spending ( AND not spending on domestic issues)! So the reform has to start somewhere... the spending can not be blamed on the new government... but at least the spending is directed towards its own citizens. I am also against socialist programs so my opinion on the new establishment is yet to be determined... but the above statement is completely ignorant. Emission standards should have been more progressive and started long before now. We are now paying the consequences of a short-sighted, industry influenced administration. The domestic auto industries has been killing themselves for years... The current economy or emission standards have nothing to do with it!! Anyone who thinks otherwise is just uninformed!
