Gran Turismo 5 next month!! Call of Duty 4 or Ghost Recon Advanced thumbs up!
Make sure to update the PS3 to v2.10 that will be in the settings area,
Also you might encounter the PS3 upon startup the screen going black while on HDMI, Dont worry just use the AV cables and AV video setting to get picture back and then redo the hdmi connection.

(I'll still be buying the prologue, just getting anxious about the whole shebang! Grand Turismo is the only reason I ever touch the PlayStation...

GT5 full version or the prologue/preview? I was under the impression that we're getting the prologue first and the full version down the road...

1. extra 2 usb ports
2. extra 40 gb of space
3. compatible with some ps2 games
4. Free game versus free moive
So, should I upgrade for $100 and some changes? BTW, I have $433.00 Best Buy store credit if anyone wants to trade for cash.

The problem is that Best Buy doesn't sell the 80 gb version anymore and I got the 40 gb from them.

The only real advantage are the SD slots for the memory. Having the extra USB is ok. U can charge your cell while you play or watch! .
I forgot about GTA that will be a keeper

Mark,
Be VERY careful with Netflix Blu-Ray! They seem to not have enough discs at the local distribution centers and there are VERY LONG wait times. I changed my subscription to BR and a week later back to regular DVD. I have read about this problem on AVS Forum... Hopefully this situation improves as Netflix will stop distributing HD-DVD by the end of this year and stock up in BR.

Must be your region. I'm over here in Germany and have not had one problem getting blu-ray discs. I have, however, had a problem dealing with how long it takes the air force (postal bubbas) to get my discs here. That being said, I picked up a PS3 last summer. Stand alone blu-ray players (sony) just dropped to 299 over here. Might pick up one of them to go with a second 52" LCD.

Hello guys,
I was also looking for a Sony PS3, given the fact that i got a bit bored with the low graphics of my wii (still fun though) and i'm definitely going to buy the PS3 for HD movies but i was wondering (and excuse my newbiness in the subject) does the Blu-Ray movie have a particular format just like dvd movies (vob etc etc) or it's just .mkv format? And do you guys know if PS3 reads MKV movies (very important for me)???
Thanks!

I went out at bought the 80 GB PS3 today. I had trouble finding one as no one had it in stock since it's discontinued. All local Circuit City, Best Buy, Target and Walmart stores didnt have it. They only had the 40 GB model. I was ready to give up. I decided to search on ebay and saw one guy who posted a 60 GB PS3 which he had a receipt dated Jan 30th 2008 that he bought from Kmart. The 60 gb model is long since discontinued so I called the local Kmart here and they had the 80 GB model only, ironically they didnt even have the 40 gb. It seems like it's opposite land over there. Anyway, I snatched it up and I'm happy!
