I think we should ask Monica Seles what she thinks. (Remember, she was stabbed during a 1993 match when a guy jumped onto the court).
Sure, we know now that the kid was unarmed and goofing around.
What should they have done?
1. Tackle/body slam him to the ground. (Risk concussions, broken bones, sprains, strains, bruises to kid AND law enforcement personnel).
2. Throw batton. (Risk concussion, broken bones, sprains, strains, bruises or WORSE to kid).
3. Wrestle him to ground. (Risk concussions, broken bones, sprains, strains, bruises to kid AND law enforcement personnel - risk kid gains access to weapons).

Security was lacking in any place back then. It actually was a different world back in 1993.
And I totally agree that in situation like the one with Monica Seles, deadly force is appropriate. Again, its a jugdement call of the officer that I disagree with. Nothing more.

so this poor kid gets on the field during game time, having a good time.
He probably didn't know that he wasn't supposed to be on the field.
And then since he's on the field running around care free, enjoying life, some officers asked / told him to stop.
So he didn't stop, probably because of all the cheering fans, and the fact that the officers didn't speak up.
So he was asked again, to stop by the officers, which he didn't, he was just having too much fun at the time. Just some clean fun, running on the grass on a baseball field.
so after running around trying to catch up to this kid, the kid just kept playing "catch me if you can".
So the 'mean' officer took out his taser and wanted to play "Tag" with him.
TAG YOU"RE IT
moral of the story,
If you don't want to be tased, keep your cracker ass in your seat where it belongs, not out on the field.
