Little shit got what he deserved, but as long as there are lawyers looking to be on TV, and parents wanting to cash in, these cases will go to court.
Yep, and they will win. Which is sad, no one wants to take responsibility for their actions anymore. They say he called his dad, and his said what? "Go ahead son, I am watching"? What a fool!!! If he had been raised right this would not even be an issue. Epic fail - parents

It is sad... but remember, it is the general public who creates this problem. Juries are made up of regular folks. When juries start sending people out of the courtroom with no money, then, the trend may change. At least here in CA, juries are all to willing to give money away. And there is the lack of personal responsibility for every day matters... it's always some other person's fault.

Presently, companies/insurance companies are afraid of taking these matters to trial. This has created the "cheaper to pay now than go to court" mentality. This means (in the eye of plaintiff attorneys) that EVERY lawsuit has some value.

I agree that the kid made a stupid mistake and should be punished... paying a fine and/or being put in jail. No questions about it. But tasering a kid for petty crime that is what I don't agree with.

I think we should ask Monica Seles what she thinks. (Remember, she was stabbed during a 1993 match when a guy jumped onto the court).

Sure, we know now that the kid was unarmed and goofing around.

What should they have done?

1. Tackle/body slam him to the ground. (Risk concussions, broken bones, sprains, strains, bruises to kid AND law enforcement personnel).

2. Throw batton. (Risk concussion, broken bones, sprains, strains, bruises or WORSE to kid).

3. Wrestle him to ground. (Risk concussions, broken bones, sprains, strains, bruises to kid AND law enforcement personnel - risk kid gains access to weapons).

I just think it's simple - would he have been tasered if he had remained in the stands? Nope, then he got what he deserved

And, did you hear that ANOTHER fan ran onto the SAME field last night?

No taser needed... knucklehead gave himself up.

Personally I disagree with the use of a taser

I see too many stories of people dying from it's use, and I feel it's true physiological impact is not well known

I support it's use in certain situations, perhaps when an officer is physically mismatched

or maybe when the offender has a weapon

But on a young scrawny kid? Come on.... the taser should not take the place of a physically fit and capable security guard....now they can hire any barrel ass off the street

My thought exactly.
