Ha! It really is the only and best way to get around Manhattan. Driving around the city makes me nuts. I have zero patience for pedestrians or other drivers. If I drove an 18 wheeler, I'd run everyone over. I guess it's good I didn't go to truck driving school.

Yeah, my sister lives in the city and owns a Mini that she parks on the street. I have buffed out more yellow cab paint and other stuff than I care to remember.

That thing has battle scars for sure. I have noticed a thing called the "bumper badger" on a lot of cars in NY. Invented by a guy from Brooklyn, it's a big thick rubber mat that closes in the trunk so that cars don't mess up the paint if they tap it while parking. I have seen a few cars with them on the front too.

I never take the E60 into the city, I use the train.

i was in the city saturday... dont know if it was me you saw though.. i actually saw another 550 on the west side, thought it was member wlkonacloud cause it had the same interior as hers, but it was a guy, she ouwldnt let a guy drive her car... and i park in the city occasionally... never had a problem... i just find spots that are unique, i can tell the other cars have been there a long time or next to small cars with plenty of room.. last time i went out i parked on 23st and 10th.. went out in chelsea and same cars next to me were there when i got back.. sorry your car got scratched though.. hope you get it fixed soon.. im still working on mty bumper
