There is a security level you are afforded if you know how to use and own a firearm. A weapon can be made from almost anything and if there are so many firearms to start with how can you tell the law abiding not to have them? I feel a firearm evens the playing field in most instances and can allow those who are in a disadvantage tactically to have a chance of survival. I would only be a supporter of banning firearms if we all moved to a new island where everyone was screened for firearms and then weapons would be sticks and slingshots (woooohoooo).
