I did a search and nothing relating to this, therefore we should make a list.

Forum Terms & Rules

Please take a moment to review these rules detailed below. If you agree with them and wish to proceed with the registration, simply click the "Register" button below. To cancel this registration, simply hit the 'back' button on your browser.

Please remember that we are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message.

The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this bulletin board. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this bulletin board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.

You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this bulletin board.

Over the past we did not moderate too much and let the members have fun and sort things out by themselves. We would really like to keep it that way!
Therefore we want everyone posting on the forums to think about what you're going to post BEFORE you hit the button.
Rethink your post and if it is violative of our rules, if it might offend someone else!
If so, don't post it!

The same needs to be done if you set up or change your avatar or signature!

Make sure avatar and signature are not violating the posting rules (they are shown on every POST, so the posting rules do apply!) and that your signature is NOT too big. Size does matter!

When you post, please don't quote pics, unless REALLY needed, and don't quote more text than really necessary. When replying you can delete the parts that you don't NEED to quote!

Before asking questions too fast, the forum has a search function which, if properly used, returns many useful results.

Speaking about the search function, please give your topics a title which tells the story! A title like "Guess what happened to me" doesn't tell anything and the search function will not show the topic on the result list, unless you searched for one of those words!
And searching titles only is the best way to find what you're looking for!

And please post ONLY in the forum your post REALLY belongs to!
It is much easier for searches that way!!!

Classifieds...
NO Bumps at all! A bump is a post that only serves to bring the topic back to the top of the list! Such as PM sent... You are allowed to post news/updates and/or discuss your stuff with others in your thread. But things that are private, which is everything about the purchase itself, can and has to be done in PM's or via email.
Post Pics and MOST IMPORTANT a PRICE!
Vendors that don't want to violate the "illegal" concept of "minimum advertised price" are allowed to post "Price below MAP" instead.
But please post the MAP, so everyone knows what pricerange to expect!

Another thing...
Things that are not well seen on the forums are "self-appointed Sheriffs" and "post-whoring".
If you have a problem with something someone else posted, report it or send a PM to the Admins & Mods. We will look into the situation and try to solve the problem. You might not get an answer, but that doesn't mean we are not doing anything behind the scenes. We discuss a lot of things and we are deciding together! We even have our own forum to discuss everything related to the forum and the members, so that we are all on the same page and know what's going on!

Post-whoring is something you really might want to rethink!
Guys, there is really no need to reply to every post and every topic here.
This will only lead into a situation where other members are turned away, since they really don't want to see the same individual replying to every post... just posting a smiley or something that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic.
And in the end, a high post count doesn't mean you're better than others. Quality counts, not quantity!!!
Post-whoring is not YET a violation of our rules, but you really need to think about the other members that hit the "view new posts" function and find hundreds of useless posts, wasting their time.
Rethink before posting is the thing to do!

Finally...
After the recent changes and events that took place on the forum, we will now look a bit closer at what you guys post and will remind you on the above posting rules, if we feel the need to do so. And if something is too violative of our rules, we will delete the thread without further notice.
We don't really want to be the police that steps in and tells everyone what's wrong and right. But if we don't see any other chance to keep this the high quality, friendly community it has become over the last five years, we will play the role of the forums police! Keeping the high standards is our goal! And we will do what is needed to maintain this forum as the one it is known to be.

We will now start our little clean up campaign, but I want to make one thing very clear:
This is NOT because some of you asked for it or, more importantly, threaten to report everything now!!!

We have been discussing this very often allready and didn't wanted to intervene too much. But recently we felt that it is needed to have an eye on things and clean the forum up a bit... BEFORE one specific thread caught our attention.

Please respect the rules and more important than that: Respect other members!

Thank you very much in advance!

No not the literal rules! The unspoken rules of the forum. The unspoken rules of forum use and the unspoken rules of modding. Like no m5 badges on anything but an m5. There's an example.

Let's see:
Use the search button before posting a question
No M5 badges on non-M cars, there's poser and then there's POSER!!!!
Enjoy your time here and at some point try to post something relatively useful or informative
Keep sig images to 600X100 and don;t let your sig go past your member info (to the left) when you post one line replies - this is a suggestion from the mods and not quite a rule yet, but its a good suggestion
Try not to piss off mods and admins (see above )

No not the literal rules! The unspoken rules of the forum.
No off-color or tasteless jokes.
For instance:

Shift change at the morgue

Man...you should have seen what came in last night
A woman they pulled out of the river. She'd been in there for weeks.
Her thing...her thing was like a pickle.
A pickle? You mean it was green?
No. It was sour.

Read and understand every word in a post before replying.
An example:

Hey Betty! I don't appreciate you calling me a b&tch!
I didn't call you a b@tch. I said at your age you should have better control of your PMS.
Oh. Well don't ever say I'm fat again!
I didn't say you are fat. I said that striped blouse makes you look larger than you really are.
Ok. Stop telling everyone my boyfriend's wiener has a wart on it!
I didn't say his wiener has a wart on it. I said it FEELS like it has a wart on it...

Hope this helps

heres a good one,

Post pics from Top to bottom, not left to right!
Its easier to view pics when i just scroll down rather than to the right.
