I saw that yesterday in a German Auto mag. Looks like MB cannot come up with any new ideas, so copy what works and sells!

The bootlid also seems to have certain similarities to that of the E65. And look at how the nav screen is embedded in the dashboard - looks as if it is ripped out of an Audi.

That is one UGLY steering wheel The dash design beggars belief. It looks like they took the top of the new A6 dash and mated it to the centre armrest and lower centre console drawer section of an E65 then stuck in the middle section of the upper centre console from one of those Renault MPV's. Merc seem to have descended to the Japanese way of doing things i.e. they can't think up any new ideas of their own so have just plagiarised two or three other designs, mixed them together and then hoped that nobody notices.
What were they thinking with the exterior? Those wheel arch bulges look contrived and the front and rear door handles appear to slope away from each other at a strange angle. I think Mercedes just did BMW a huge favour to boost sales of the 7 series. Bet you Chris Bangle is one very smug guy now

It's the American auto industry influence to become stagnent in design and copy. I can't believe they copied it that closely... I guess they will be introducing a Q-Drive?
So sad...
