Yes I had the QC2s. I always used the carrying case. The plastic piece surrounding the headband broke.

Maybe the more recent models don't have such cheap cpnstruction. I certainly had no complaints about the sound quality.

I've had the Shure SE530PTH for 2 years and like them. Since I have never used any other noise cancelling buds I have nothing to compare them to.

i got QC3 and i love it... really good in the library ignoring ppl ... so i put it on when i see someone that i really dont want to talk to or get bothered at... so i put it on and pretend music is coming out and actually dont hear anything...

also i sometimes ride 17hr flight to go home and it is really great!!! reduce alot of noise and love it love it!!...

I was going on a trip and wanted something I could watch movies on my iphone with.
Went up to best buy and saw they had a pair of Sony ear bud noise cancelling head phones.
They were about 84'ish USD's so I said why not give'm a try.

I was actually impressed with the quality of the sound and the lack of noise.
I'm sure they are not the quality of an over the ear set but these roll up small and can go in my pocket.

Good luck with your purchase.

I am actually going to start a thread in the classified section. Here is a link to more details: http://www.akg.com/personal/K_480_NC..._psmand,1.html
