My friend got one of those projection keyboards and its surprisingly accurate. But i must agree i would miss the clicking of the keys on the keyboard.

My Ride: 545i; Manual Shifter
If you type with two hands (and not two fingers) I can see this being a problem. But I'm sure there's a learning curve to become more efficient in using this device.
I myself rely on the feedback of the keyboard, spacing between each button, and the spring-back of the buttons after each press.
Still, this is a very cool concept and would love to see this work.

These keyboards have some of the same ergonomic issues found in the iDrive (minimal tactile feedback). But there are useful applications such as sterile enviroments and for portable devices. Perhaps even in automotive use or repair shops where grease can gum up keys.

True! In fact, I had shares of a company that is working on that project. The project is beautiful..but knowing me (who still use -- the old IBM clickey kb).mmmmm..dont know about getting used to it.
