Each week on Deadliest Warrior, a new episode will pit two of the most feared warriors civilization has ever known against each other. Along with the use of 21st century science and the latest in CGI technology, each episode enlists warrior-specific world-class fighters and experts to provide insight into what makes these combatants tick, analyzing every facet of their unique skills of destruction, culminating in a head-to-head final fight between two legends of the battlefield that will produce the deadliest warrior. Other highly-anticipated showdowns this season include: Pirate vs. Knight, Taliban vs. IRA, Yakuza vs. Mafia, Viking vs. Samurai, Green Beret vs. Spetznaz, Maori vs. Shaolin Monks, William Wallace vs. Shaka Zulu and Ninja vs. Spartan.
Saw the Apache vs. Gladiator episode yesterday. Pretty cool science.

It's a pretty cool show, I've seen a few episodes. Although I was rooting the Apaches, their guy was hella annoying and overly cocky.

Was funny when he busted his club on the gladiator helmet.

I watched this show for the first time last night and laughed my a** off. Shaka Zulu vs. William Wallace. I couldn?t get the image of Shaquille O?Neal and Mel Gibson mixing it up out of my head. Although I really found the series intriguing, I think the computerized conclusions are a bunch of bunk. Insufficient garbage data in, garbage conclusions out. Historians don?t know enough about either Shaka or Wallace to have any idea how each would?ve fought. Was Shaka relatively fast and quick or slow and powerful? Was William Wallace offensively aggressive or a counter puncher? Who knows?
But what history does tell is that at times both men were tactically brilliant commanders. I?m disappointed that the show didn?t address a more interesting debate?whether the 17th or 18th century Highland Charge could have survived the 19th century Horns of the Bull attack formation. I think the Zulus may have the better argument in this debate, because the Horns of the Bull actually worked in the late 19th century against superior weapons technology whereas the Highland Charge met its demise in the mid 18th century. Being a victim of racist colonial aggression and an African-American, my bias puts me in squarely in Shaka?s camp. But, I was partially trained in a particular fighting art by an extremely skilled Scotsman. And anyone trained by a Scotsman knows that when it comes to the fighting arts they are focused and clever beyond belief. I suggest that noone knows you better than your historical adversaries so knowledgeable Englishmen should chime in and settle this matter. Anyone with the British special forces out there? Ha Ha Ha.
