2011 F150 EcoBoost - 3.5L Twin Turbo V-6, 3.73 Limited Slip Differential, Max Tow + other bits

365 hp, 420 ft-lbs ... only 1 second slower than the 535i, yet 2000 lbs heavier. Commute mpg is same as 535i.

No BMW but it's as quiet, as fuel efficient, as safe, as fit and finished ... and 1/2 the price of a new 5.

As fit and finished? My 535 was 60K and doesn't even have navigation. I bet the truck has me beat at 1/2 the price!

The auction value on my 2008 535i is ~ 25K. The lease residual is ~ 35K. BMWFS is about to eat 10K. To lease a new 2011 5'er for the same price as my 2008, the lease payment jumps $200/mo. Hope and change. ROFL.

People, let's not get excited about numbers. Although I congratulate the OP on his fine machine, we still need to remember that it's still a truck. I'd much rather be driving the 535i at 100+ around a curve than a truck, at anytime. I would still prefer the agility and quick steering of a Bimmer for a fighting chance of getting away from an oncoming, head-on, run-away 18-wheeler. Just sayin...

I guess the advantage of the F150 is you get home faster from Home Depot so you can get a leg up on your neighbor spreading the fertilizer.

^^What he said

The F150 may be the benchmark for P/U trucks but I don't think it will cross over into the sport sedan territory.
