New impressive lighting technology

CFL's look horrible and I haven't looked into LEDs that close. I would expect the light quality of LEDs to be on the unacceptable side for indoor lighting. These ESL look promising but I'm interested in cost and light quality. Another huge point for those who want to be green - how much of an impact are you making if your energy efficient light has to be shipped half way across the globe? I can find incandescent bulbs made in North America but try finding a CFL that is not made in China. These ESLs aren't any better being that they're made in Eastern Europe.

I wonder how energy efficient these ESL's really are though. They compared themselves against incandescent but it seems like they are using electron emission onto a phosphorous type compound to produce light, the same way old tube tv's work. We all know how energy inefficient that technology was.
It could also be marketing hype for an OTCBB shell company. Anything this revolutionary, as the company claims, would already be published in respected science journals, like Scientific American.
