Believe me, I know where you are coming from. I always loved cars since I was a kid and have subscribed to all of the major cars mags since I was about 10. I'll still never forget how much I wanted my license when I was a teenager and how happy I was to get it.

Me too. The freedom and independence of owning a car has changed everything!
Just drive safely and smartly. The accident (and fatality) rate is so damm high for drivers in their first year. Know your car's limits and try not to show off too much when driving .

I got a court date for that ticket but the judge had mercy with me... no points and no fine. I have no clue why he let me off that easily, all I had to do was 4 hour traffic school.
I really respected the judge's understanding, so after that I haven't sped at all.
I take pride in driving like a civilized person. Always use my blinker, never cut people off, and drive with consideration to other drivers (not braking before getting into a turn lane for example )

Yea I learned that about a month after I got my car when I got an 80 in a 45 speeding ticket. (I am not a reckless driver, it was at night with no one on the road....except for a cop...)

Yes, I think I remember you posting about this. We all learn these kind of lessons. Sounds like it was a good one and that you're better for it.

I still gets the magazines. It's a real incentive for me to work harder!
And no, I do not believe that I'll ever catch up to Gene.
