This was the high today!! Wind chill was -40F!!

At least not as cold as it was here around 1993 (or was it 1994?). Wind chills were down to -70F Brrrrrr..... (anybody here remember that season?)
I wonder how long a human could withstand those temperatures wearing regular clothes before going hypothermic? -70! I can't even imagine what that would feel like. Geez.

OK, for some of you guys in colder climes, this might not seem too bad, but around here, this is crazy cold. I just took this pic when I parked at the office. This is the lowest temperature I've ever seen on my e60 as far as I can recall. I know there was a thread about this last year with worse, but geez! The wind chill index has got to be -5?F or more!

PS: I know, it's warm in CA and FL, so please spare us the predictable.

You forgot SoTEX

It was 65F all day today. Feels great, I think I'll wash my car tomorrow

Skin freezes in a very short time in this weather. Imagine what -70 can do!!! I would say 5 minutes or less of exposure to freeze the skin. No idea about hypothermia in these conditions. I can tell you that Chopper refuses to poo in these temperatures. He runs out, pees and runs back to the sliding glass door shivering and whining.

"According to the National Weather Service, wind chills will range statewide from 30 to 40 below zero overnight and tomorrow morning when people will be going to work and children will be going to school. In those conditions, exposed skin could freeze within 10 minutes."

Time to get Chopper some boots and a nice jacket and socks. =) Its so funny when dogs wear this stuff, but I've read a few guides for dogs, they actually help.

Does his pee freeze into a stalagmite formation? Seriously, that's scary cold.
