This weekend I shot 3 guns. The first was a colt M4 carbine 223. The second was a 308. The third was a .22 caliber M4 carbine.

I wont be using this gun to hunt. Strictly target shooting. The 308 was a beast and that fire power isnt needed for what i will be using this gun for. So basically it comes down to the 223 and the 22. They are basically the same gun when it comes to size, weight, looks, etc. The 223 is much more fun to shoot. The 22 felt like a BB gun after the 223. The 22 can target shoot up to 100 yards with no problems. The rounds are extremely cheap. 20 bucks will get me around 500 rounds. The 223 was a lot more fun and has a lot more fire power. I was told i could target shoot with the 223 anywhere from 100 yards to 500 yards no problem. The 223 is double the price of the 22. The rounds for the 223 are $20 for 15 rounds.

So im looking at 1200ish for the 223. 20 dollars will get me 15 rounds.
the 22 runs around 550 and 20 bucks gets me 500 rounds.

So my question is do i bother with the 22? Will i get bored because of the lack of power? Any help or suggestions appreciated. I dont know a lot about guns so if any of my info isnt correct please help me out.

Brett, the .22 is the biggest pussy round ever lmao...you're better off buying a pellet gun lmao...

Get the .223 it's fun to shoot, low recoil, and when the Russians invade us and shit hits the fan, it will actually do some damage. My advice is to get a cheap .22 somewhere and also get the .223. I would get a .22 pistol for plinking and the .223 for everything else

Also, if your paying $20 for 15 rounds someone is f*cking you bigtime...that's like legit defense round money...range ammo can be cheaper and less reliable.

Go to a gunshow and pick up a 500 round case for $125.

Didnt even know there was a difference in ammo. I knew that i could find cheaper reloaded ammo. The 22 is weak but for target shooting it might be more economical. Maybe get the 22 for target shooting and the 223 for when the shit hits the fan? Dont really want to spend the money on two guns.

It's not even reloaded ammo, brand new ammo!

And I have NEVER had a misfire with the cheap ammo...however I did have a bunch of misfires with the 1984 Surplus ammo we used in the AK-47...lol

Trust me, get a pistol .22 for plinking, those are cheap as fuhhh and you can buy them used for even cheaper! You know you want the .223

I shot the Belgium FN P90 Full Automatic Assault Rifle and loved it.

Here's what it looks like. What a great gun, especially in full auto mode. If I lived in Arizona, I'd own one for sure and keep it in the M5.
