it is useless if you are the first to be targetted. I think, you can definately receive early warning alarms with your current detectors however some manual interpretation of the alarm needs to be done by driver since the laser is only a few micro or milliseconds in cycletime. Lets just pray our currect detectors can be upgraded to support this new feature....

It happened to me twice (I have a vinyl adhesive number plate) Looks like normal licence plate but it's a sticker.
The cops were trying to target on me with laser gun, from 500m distance, until the time I passed them. There were no traffic on the road, so it was clear that they were pointing on me, but they had no luck...
I was driving with about 2X the speed limit. I managed to slow down a little, but it was too late... so, I thought that they'll sign on me to stop, but they didn't, they were just keep trying, until I passed them ...with the correct speed of course.
They need to point on a flat metal surface to get a result.
Does anyone here with no licence plate on the front bumber, has ever been ticketed by a laser gun pointing from the front?
