Sorry but depreciation is almost everywhere around you. Nothing lasts forever. I think you meant 'money that is invested with an expectation of profit'. This i agree with and of course the car is not an investment. That's why most of the time i put the word in quotes cuz i don't really refere to the basic meaning of the word.

I was thinking something like investing in stock market or buying houses and property when talking about investment.

We have heard this "Audi is a VW" argument before. I think the only negative is that Audi/VW resale is not as good as MB or BMW, not that all Audis/VWs are inferior cars.

Personally, I would rather have an S8 than a 750i/760i and that Bugatti Veyron is not a bad car either. The Phaeton is different as it was not distinctive at all and should have never been built.
