Unfortunately this happens every year, be careful on the slopes guys!

There has been less than one death for every million ski-lift tickets sold in the last decade in the United States. By contrast, the National Safety Council reports that in 1995, the fatality rate for bicycling was 7.1 per million days spent bicycling, and the drowning rate was 17 per million days spent in water sports.

''You are 10 times more likely to become a fatality statistic bicycling than skiing, 100 times more likely in water sports,'' said John Frew, president of Colorado Ski Country USA, a group that represents ski areas. Noting that 300 Americans die every year from falls in bathtubs, he said of skiing's critics: ''Maybe they should quit taking showers.''

Was not in any way implying skiing is a particularly dangerous sport. Just hoping everyone stays in control and comes back in one piece. I love skiing and the wife snowboards. When the kids get a little older, we look forward to returning to the slopes regularly!

This reminds me: I should get my ass out on the slopes again before I get old (or before the friggin' Global Warming melts all the damm snow!)
Right on Vlad. I haven't been back to the slopes since my back surgery in 2008. I miss it. I have to get back out.

Blue Mountain is small, but still fun. The trails are a bit short though.
