Does anyone know or how to tell if AT&T has been throttling the bandwidth on the iPhones? I have had my iPhone since day one and I'm frankly tired of the insanely slow speeds I'm receiving recently. I have FULL bars, and loading web pages takes minutes. I can't even stream Pandora anymore because its absurdly slow. I thought I had heard something recently about AT&T not expecting all the extra bandwidth that the iPhone is consuming. Anyone having similar problems?

I am not experiencing your issues at all. However, it may may be better to get an opinion from someone in your area. I've never had a single problem sending or receiving anything using wifi or cell data. I do have the 3gs.

i reading a article on cnn about how there are too many iPhone users in high populated areas like sans Francisco or NYC.. no cell company was ready for the iphone and the technology isnt there in the united states to support it.(the iPhones are over loading the networks). it really wouldnt matter if the iphone was on verizon network either, they would have the same problems. i dont have any problems where i live, but when i was in las vegas last week i could notice how slow the data was.. at&t is setting up wifi hotspots all over the country to help with the problem.(they have 20,000 wifi hotspot now). but this is gonna be something everyone that own a iphone is going to have to bear with..
there is an app that tell you where there are free at&t hot spots.... you can always use that...

Verizon's 3G network is much better - but I agree that they too would struggle with the huge influx of iphone users whenever the Apple/AT&T contract expires and Apple starts selling to all cellular carriers.

AT&T was not, and still is not capable of supporting the millions of iphone users in its network.

engadget.com tested all the networks in the US.. at&t had the fast 3G network... hands down.. then verizon...
for the past few years, engadget has done their own independent tests in the major cities around the country, and AT&T still has faster download and upload speeds than any other US carrier.
Verizon may have more 3G coverage, but how is that going to sustain a 500%+ increase in data usage over 3 years? Answer: It won't.

But, Phil as to answer your question, I personally have not noticed a significantly slower download time while using Safari. As mentioned before it could be the excessive amount of people using 3G in your immediate area.
