I couldn't agree more. I still have a cable modem connection (temporarily) that I can use to compare (not really motivated to do so though) and one thing I did notice is the increase in speed on my 802.11b wireless laptop. (I'm ordering a new laptop in a few days so I'll be upgrading to 802.11g soon, I imagine...)

One thing to remember that the author of that article failed to see -- Comcast can up the bandwidth but so can Verizon. Unless Comcast pulls fiber to the house, Verizon will end up winning the bandwidth war. All I can say is, competition is a good thing!

My new ADSL2+ connection to Be Broadband was activated last night



I'm getting 14 meg download and 1.3 meg upload (theretical max is 24mb download - but you have to live in the exchange).



It's only available in Birmingham and London at the moment, but is being slowly rolled out (I think Manchester is next).
