Yeah, I usually start slowing down very gradually to the point when it becomes unbearable for them and they pass me. If they don't pass, I had cases when I slowed down to almost a complete stop!
Then slowly open your sunroof, flip a bird and drive off! (that was a joke, don't do that).
Or of the car behind you is slower, smash on the gas and loose it.

This happens because you call the left lane "the fast lane". If left lane was called "the overtaking lane", things would be better for you to understand and for all people behind you enjoy their driving moments. Think about it ...you are "the problem" not others behind you. Also you are not "the law"!! If you continue doing things like this, some day you will kill someone, maybe a whole family...
As for myself. To be honest, I'm pretty much ALWAYS in the left lane because I'm always passing everyone. Probably the only time I'm not in the left lane is when the road ahead is clear of cars for a good distance so I'll cruise in the inner lane or when I'm approaching an exit.

I usually tap the brakes a couple of times. If they don't back off, i SLAM the brakes. That'll usually keep them off my tail.
I'm not a lefty-driver, so i usually drive on the right, but in traffic some people never learn to keep off your ass.

Drive your speed and stay out of other people's way is my MO. I'm a conscientious and courteous driver. Still, I get irritated with people, but I found that all that brake tapping/slamming for the tailgaters and tailgating for the slow left-laners crap just leads to road rage. Everybody wants to be the tough guy. What difference does it make? All you do is get mad and let some jerk you'll never see again draw negative feelings out of you. I don't have time for that anymore.

If you're in the fast lane and not passing anyone, you should just move to the right lane and let the guy behind pass you....

oh. just remembered. I had a friend who used to drive an EVO and he put in HID reverse lights and a switch that he can always turn them on. If someone tails him, they will be blinded. LOL

I don't see where he said he was in the left lane. He could have meant that but it's also possible that he's just saying whenever he's in a lane, even the right lane and someone tailgates him, that's what he does.

This is what we all need.....although it'd be interesting to see what happens when you're behind a cop.

The simple fact is that people just don't know how to drive,
and they think that their car protecs them from all injuries.
The fact is, by many studies made, all drivers think they are better than the average driver.
All drivers, around the world, should renew their licenses every 5th year,
and get a educational lesson of what a car crash is and what it may cause.
