When I lived in San Fran, the markets near my house had it out on the street for sale and never inside. I was always tempted to buy one, but after watching Andrew gag in a recent episode, I have decided no need. Hahahaha!

Durian is great man. You do need to get it fresh from Southeast Asia. Only way to eat it. Anywhere else, stinks and taste crappy.

Sorry everyone, I was VERY sick so I didn't ship anything out today.
I took a nighttime Tylenol in the afternoon. It feels stronger. I then boiled a pot of water, put a can of abalone inside the pot and lowered the heat so it basically simmers. This makes it taste better BTW. Or maybe the heat was still too high. I forgot. I laid on my couch and feel asleep immediately. After two or three hours, I heard a LOUD explosion. My cat was sleeping next to me and she fell right off the couch. I ran to my kitchen to see it all blown up. The stove melted, glass pieces everywhere, there's a BIG DENT in my ceiling with an indentation of the pot cover, abalone sauce everywhere, the can was blown up flew into my living room....yeah....it was crazy. Just finished partially cleaning it. I just threw away my stove.

best to cook this is poor it into a bowl and then put the bowl on top of pot of water and simmers, this will keep the taste and will not over cook the abalone.

Now in HK fish market it is $7usd for 6 Abalone ( the size is about 5cm )
Abalone is becoming very cheap to eat now.
I know in china it is like $3usd for 6 Abalone
