I will have a better idea about our participation by about 25 September.

Also, if anyone from Finland would be joining, it probably means taking a ferry on Friday night to Stockholm, arriving early (07.00) Saturday morning. So, the farther south in Sweden the meet would be, the longer it will take us to get there.

Here are some driving distances:

Malm? is 620km (7h) from Stockholm, G?teborg (5h) is 475km from Stockholm, and Helsingborg is 560km (6h) from Stockholm.

The driving times vary depending on the weather and how lucky you feel driving on the E4 anywhere around Link?ping!

I would still suggest J?nk?ping (280km or 3h from Malm?), however that may be impossible and not nearly as interesting as Malm?, Helsingborg or G?teborg.

I'm easy going with this. If there are people coming from Finland, then yeah, lets get a compromise going. Otherwise I personally would like to keep it around the Malm?/Copenhagen/West-Sweden area

What do others think of Patrick's suggestion -- ok with this amount of travel?

(As you know Patrick, I got my fingers burnt with the last meet as lots of other people said they want to do a big journey and then backed out at the last minute because it was all to difficult. We naturally enjoyed ourselves, but it meant a lot of effort coordinating / travelling that could have been avoided.)

^^
Just re-read my post and its maybe a little unclear -- I'm not implying the Finish members won't turn up! I just want to make sure in advance that people are prepared to travel those distances in general, especially as the bulk of us are near the Malm?/Copenhagen area. So, everyone ok with this??

Thanks X3MKing

STCC is too short notice for us now, but a very good idea in principle -- maybe next time -- we should keep an eye on the race calendar for future events.

So whats with the www.bmwcs.com/syd BMW meeting the 26/9? Unforetunately my understanding of Swedish is, well, not really existant! What I could understand from the flyer is that its quite a big event at the S?dschleife. Only problem is that its September and most people said October was better.
Any thoughts -- see attached flyer.
Sudschleife2009.pdf

www.bmwcs.com/syd also had this listed there, which is the date we already had in mind:
"10 Oktober Sektions k?rning Stillings?ns Bil Verkstadstr?ff. Samling McDonalds Stigcenter 10:00"
What's all this about -- is it something we could also join or does it not look very appealing?!

So what's up guys?
We had some good initial feedback and now its gone quiet!

I assume Saturday 10th October is still fine.
It just comes down to venue now. Copenhagen/Malm? seemed fine, with a preference towards the Swedish side because of the bridge... those on the Danish side will all go through at once on Hafnia's BroBizz card -- like the Top Gear guys did at the Alfa Concours Meet As for those coming from further a field, lets get an attendee list going and then see if we can bring things closer together, maybe on the route?

Stilling suggested we meet at BMW and Alpina in Helsingborg. Sounds good to me; seems pretty close for most, should be in most peoples BMW-NAV address book, parking available, refreshments/comfort break, and we get to check out the latest BMW & Alpina have to offer I assume the locals can then suggest a route for a cruise and somewhere to eat.

This is my suggestion to get things started and will get another post started in the Meet & Greet section later today...

(If anyone wants to do something different / more adventurous, I'm open minded for anything. However, that person should then please take the lead in organising things, thanks )

Hi i just spoke to the BMSCS/Syd about the meeting 26-9 and they had 25-30 cars last year.
We will be able to tryout some cars at p?lssons bil in Helsingborg.

We will get a roadmap and some questions on the way to ?ngelholm.
WE will also get a discount on parts from BMW
The cost is 100Sek for Breakfast/Lunch/ Activities.

After everything is over there will be a Dinner at Restaurant Edeweiss (A german one of corz) In helsingborg. (This is not included in the price)

I think this will be a great oppurtunity for us to gather. and find some new freinds as everybody is driving a Beemer we will have a lot to talk about.

Do we have any clue on how many from this forum who is intressted in this ? as we need to call in advance so report how many we will be.

All the Best.

That sounds great, but unforetunately we'll have visitors staying, so 26th Sept is a no-go for me. Thanks for following up on this and please do keep me in mind if you're planning anything like this with BMSCS/Syd in the future -- I'd love to attend one of those meets!

I have set-up this post in the Meet & Greet forum so we can get a list together and work out where we're going to be going on the day. I hope this covers the various inputs above or is at least still open enough to incorporate them. I'm pretty lost on this one, so please keep the ideas coming in the other post, thanks!

Looking forward to finally meeting some of you, as well as hopefully seeing some of you again
Like X3MKing wrote, it will be great to meet new like minded friends and spend a day driving and drooling over BMWs!

Happy New Year -- hope all is well and you had a good start to the year

We've talked about doing a larger meet this summer somewhere in the Nordics. There is also talk of a world wide meet taking place in munich. Check out and reply in this other post if you're interested. I've already put my name down
