Dear fellow E60 members, I wish you all a happy and joyous holiday, whether you celebrate Easter, Passover, or any other holiday linked to the March Equinox.
No matter the holiday, we celebrate the renewal of life, the new-found freedom, the beginning of good things to come, and those are all good things that we sometime take for granted.
As for my injuries after the bike crash, everything was healing pretty good, except that the ribs in my back would really hurt whenever I tried lying down or especially sneezed. Last Thursday, I went to see my orthopedist who took some x-rays of the ribs and he found that I broke ribs number 4 and 5 along the posterior axillary line. I knew that it was too good to be true to just walk away from such a fast and hard crash, but then again, I still consider my self lucky for still being among the living and for continuing my quest to help cancer victims.
The doctor recommended that I stay off the bike until next weekend and then start again slowly and on my hybrid bike which allows for a more upright position. He thinks that by June 12, my ribs will have healed sufficiently enough to complete the 100 mile ride. I WILL complete the full 100 mile ride. If I have to push my bike up the hills, I will do so. Nothing compares to what cancer patients go through and the lives we help save could be our own.
On the positive side, my donations have increased a lot since my accident to literally put me on top of the fundraisers list. There was a silver lining, after all. The more we raise, the better the chances to find a cure and to improve the lives of cancer patients. If by any chance anybody feels like contributing and reading my blog on the ACS site, please IM me privately and I'll send you the link.

Thanks, everyone. My ribs are improving. It now feels like only two knives are stabbing me, when I sneeze. Earlier, it felt like a bomb went off internally and a bunch of knives stabbing me at the same time. I'll ride on June 12, I owe it to all the cancer patients and past victims. I will post pictures. Thanks for your support.
