Can't say enough great stuff about the XD 45. Superb gun, I shoot it far more accurately than other 45 ACP weapons. Cheap too compared to other choices mentioned.
I remember when the XD was the HS2000 and priced around the high $200's. It was a new model here in the US and a very good buy. SA bought the rights to the HS and renamed it.

It's a great option if anyone's looking for a .45 ACP. The Nighthawk is expensive.

Yup. Still a good deal though, considering I don't think the sexier brands of polymer 45 ACP shoot nearly as well.
Croat gun isn't it?

Didn't we discuss hand guns a couple months ago??
You can't control any recoil. The idea is to pick-up your target as quickly as possible after the recoil.

The key to controlling any recoil is in the grip and a capable instructor will go over this with you.

I think it is. It's supposed to have a good trigger, but I haven't had any time behind one.
I have shot the competing 45 ACPs... a buddy of mine has the HK USP bi-tone 45 - I can't shoot it very well (and I generally out-do whoever I go to the range with... he owns it and he is worse than I am with it). The XD is a different story entirely. It's a dream to shoot. Half the cost too.
I wonder how that new model is (XDm). Don't know anyone with one of those yet.
The OP should check out the forum for these guns - you see a lot of long-time shooters and law enforcement comparing them to the competing brands. Generally, the XD is mopping the floor with the competition.
