Got my first Rolex yesterday!!!
#21
I agree that Rolex's will never be played out. They are and always will be a well respected time piece. Here's my progression of watches...
Bought my first high end watch about 15 years ago - Now considered an "old school" Tag Heuer. Had to special order and wait over six months for my Rolex when I first got it six years ago because they didn't make that face with the oyster bracelet at the time. My most recent purchase earlier this year was the Breitling Super Avenger. I call it my Vegas watch because it's too much bling to wear everyday. Next on the list is a white gold Daytona!
On a side note, if anyone out there is interested in my Tag, let me know. I originally paid $1800 for it. I have no idea what it's worth now, but will be open to offers since all it does is sit in my drawer.

Guy are you serious? I think that is like an oxy moron. Rolex and played out??? Rolex is forever, as long as they don't get bought out by Ford, they will continue to be known as one of the premier timepieces...

However, there are other nice watches out there... like Panerai, IWC... but Rolex will always be a Rolex.

Thanks for all the compliments guys! If you would have asked me a few years ago if I'd purchase a Rolex sometime in my future I would have laughed. I agree - they can appear "played out". But once you do the research, learn the story behind their timepieces, and realize (through more research) how CLASSIC their designs are it's really a cool purchase. It's amazing to me that in the last 2 years alone, this particular model has gone up $1300 in retail pricing. You can find GMT's made in the 50-60's for 10+ grand even with tons of wear/tear and love. Rolex designs will never go out of fashion, as the rest of the watch community copies their every detail. Plus -My goal is to one day give this watch to my first son once he's in his first career as a "you've made it" gift. I'm in medical sales so through physicians/surgeons I see a LOT of nice watches. Pateks, Rolexs, Brietlings, Omegas etc. You have to admit though, when you see a businessman wearing a classy Rolex it says something about their success. Anyways, I'm thrilled with my purchase but weary of the scratches-to-come on the center links of my band After dropping a TON on my fiance's engagement ring it's kinda nice to finally have my own nice piece of luxury jewelry
