What does it do that Firefox doesn't?

It does the same job, but faster (try google maps)
Plus when you open a lot of tabs from a page and the browser is downloading images, Firefox becomes slow (all the browser), Chrome remains working.

First reply from Chrome.

Edit:
It uses more memory than Firefox.. I don't like this!

It does feel quicker to me having fannied about for a while.

It'll be interesting to see if the online banks work properly. They can be a bit picky.

I'm also curious to see if they have set up a framework to allow add-ins a la Firefox. One thing I noticed was that I have to click on a tab to open it rather than just hover momentarily the way I can with tab mix plus on Firefox. I couldn't easily find a way to change that.

Verion 8 of Microsoft Explorer is coming out soon and it claims to be closer to www standards than previous versions.

I think with Google and MS it's all about the search engine, which is a money spinner. I'm not really clear how or if Firefox generates revenue...

Google sponsors them - they signed an agreement that funds about 80% of their income till 2011. In exchange, firefox uses google as their default search engine...

On my laptop, the touchpad's scrolling feature (similar to the wheel on a mouse) doesn't seem to work with Chrome.

I haven't tried Chrome on my desktop machine (nor have I tried using a wheel mouse on the laptop). Is the scroll feature working for anyone else?

In addition to that review, the Google Book about Chrome was interesting and fun to read:

Interesting. Leave it to Google to cover their ass in their EULA.
