In all fairness, only one of the parties came to the table ready to have the conversation, and only one of them is a native English speaker... While Lord Monckton does make some valid points - there are some questions that don't have good or reliable answers - he might want to try again with a slightly better armed opponent...

I think the point of the interview was more to show how many green-peace protesters are not informed on the subject they are actually protesting. If your protesting, there really is no excuse for you to not know the facts and not be ready to properly defend your views with those facts. And no one was making fun of her accent. Monckton was very mature during the entire interview and always argued in a mature manner, while the protestor commented on his age in the first 30 seconds of the interview.

I think it was a very immature comment for a women that age, and it didn't make her look very good at all...

Climate Change is a religion. I will not get into this discussion.
Oh, and Al Gore is their messiah.

If you read my post, Krozi, you'll see that I never suggested anything about the accent other than the protester clearly wasn't speaking in her native language, and thus clearly at a disadvantage. Monckton, on the other hand, came to the debate speaking only in his native language. I'm not sure we'd have necessarily seen the same interview had, for example, Monckton tried to conduct the interview in say Norwegian or if the lady responded to his English questions in Norwegian.

So, my point is that it's unfair to criticize someone when the linguistic playing field isn't quite level.
