Bigger is better when:
Entering a highway
Running the "stoplight grad prix"
Listening to the beautiful exhaust note
Zooming around a race track
And also for getting a great parking/valet spot in front of your favorite restaurant.
On the other hand, you get a great looking and handeling car with a lighter front-end and a few less trips to the gas mart with a 6 cyl which equal a much heavier purse/wallet.
Either way, one is driving a beautifully designed and engineered car.
(Is it just me, or does the E60 look better than ever now that there are a few on the road?? Also, I think the MB E is already starting to look dated IMHO.

BIMMER GIRL - Welcome aboard. Bigger isn't always better. I took 2 months to chose between the 545 and the 530 and I am glad I chose the 530 every time I pull into the gas station. The price of gas is getting our of hand ( live in NJ and it is probably the cheapest of any place ). No one will think any less of you no matter what you drive, well maybe if you drove a Le Car we would, but not a BMW and of course not a E60 since that is what we are all about. Everyone is here to learn about their car and share their knowledge and experience. I hope that you enjoy your stay.

New Jersey may be the cheapest of any place regarding gas prices but, I read in MSN today that New Jersey was the priciest auto insurance state in the country, with motorists shelling out an average $1,182.54. New York kept pace with an average of $1,161.27 followed by the District of Columbia at $1,156.23.

In Hong Kong here, I pay HKD$800=USD$105 to fill up my tank.
And the Insurance here is bad, but not worst, I have full NCB (around 60% of discount), and still cost me HKD$8000=USD$1050 per year.
Back to when I was in Toronto, the insurance was horrible, each year cost me $8000CAD=$12000USD for my M Roadster, when I have no claims record.
