my fav protein supp is musclemilk, great source of protein and it has alot of muscle building additives to help with the proteinsynthesis (actual feeding of muscle) . also it tastes great, mixes well with water which is the best for convenience.
now for the calories in vs calories out, i couldn't have put it better myself!. the number one thing that will determine your success, is the calories. now how many calories should you eat? well that depends on your metabolism. it varies from person to person. just a question, what gym do you belong to? i am familar with most of them and their programs, i have been in the fitness industry for about 8 years now and i can tell you what to look for. as for cardio, its a pain in the ass but it has to be done, pick a machine or exercise of preference, and make sure you do anywhere between 25 -35 minute at your target heart rate!!! your target heart rate will determine the effectivness of your bodies calorie burning.
i can talk about this for ages so if you have any questions feel free to ask
pm me at anytime
good luck with everything, it just takes CONSISTENCY

+1 for the muscle milk, like the chocolate flavor the best. I sometimes also drink the EAS protein/carb control shake...

Muscle Milk has alot of fat in it.
I'm on Optimum Nutrition Gold Stardard (strawberry and chocolate mint FTW!)

The fat in musclemilk are medium chain tryglycerides (mct) which are burned for pure energy purposes not fat storing

I used to take createen (superpump250), and that made me gain a ton of muscle and lose weight, but now I usually grab a cup of starbucks to speed up my metabolism when I hit up the gym. You should try some 5hourEnergy that really helped me out when I was lifting and doing cardio, as it sped up my heart rate and helped me do more reps and run faster on the treadmill, thus I burned way more calories and felt the difference the next morning.
