Why did to you shoot him in the back? You're a killer!! J/K Thanks for sharing!

Nice groups! My indoor pistol range has no target restrictions but my outdoor rifle range allows "bullseye" targets only. No profiles, no figures, no Bin Laden etc. I understand, I have no problem with it. Seems a little much but I would hate to work the line with a bunch of faces and figures downrange. Too many idiots to deal with. I'd probably kick them all out and the range would go bankrupt.
I shot the guy in the back because we here in California are just crazy like that . Hehe we mostly have indoor ranges here in SoCal so use the paper targets they provide. but we do have a couple outdoor ranges outside the city. From my recollection, the outdoor ranges here might only have bullseye targetsas well.

Nice shootin' Tex! Those are some pretty tight groups. The two indoor ranges I use utilize the body targets, but do not allow head shots. At first, I thought maybe it was some restriction imposed by law. Then I heard the rangemaster tell a new guy not to because if people miss that high, they will damage the clips that hold the target!

There is a shitty little indoor range close to my house. The entire ceiling is riddled with holes. They allow shotguns so I am sure this accounts for some, but the rest are "bullet" holes, not bbs. I went there four years ago for my "first ever" range session and caught a jacket shrapnel in the middle of the forehead that drew blood. I was a noobie and thought this was normal

Holy crap! Could have been worse--throat? I imagine your shooting glasses would have saved your eyes, but still. Geez. Yeah, they give one warning at both places I frequent. This can be for any infraction. Anything else and you get the hook for the day, regardless of how much time you paid for. Come back and do anything wrong again and you're banned for life. I can't even imagine what the insurance runs for a place like that.

Yeah, you wouldn't believe the stories I could tell, and I only went there half-dozen times. The next closest range is another 20 miles and is worth every mile.

My outdoor rifle range maxes out at 100 yards. Everyone complains that the "range masters" are strict and militant. I went there. They are strict and militant.

THAT'S WHAT I WANT!! I have to walk 100 yards down range to change my target. I don't want some dim wit pointing a live barrel at me when the line is cold. And I don't want some dipshit walking downrange when the line is hot. These strict "range masters" assure that neither of these events occur.

Our range master is a bad-ass Yugoslavian guy and he kicks out anyone how does nonsense like shooting as fast as they can and loosing control.
There was a guy who shot a bullet while the range was cold and he got thrown out 10 seconds later.

You're not working alone as a bodyguard.

If you are protecting someone who REALLY needs it, you have about one dozen armed bodyguards to protect the person.

If I am alone, without any help, I am protecting somebody that is not in critical danger and a revolver also works here.

Now, back to the group of 12... Some would carry automatics, and I'd have rifles in the car for backup...
haha "...Some would carry automatics..." - so this IS a matter of personal preference?

Same here. Our range master is so funny too, he will shoot sometimes and then show off his target to everyone as if they where pictures of his new baby or something.
He is very convinced of his shooting abilities
