Not talking about you Fred. Let's see if our buddy steps up.
Hmm Dunno.

That Laser Park Pro looks interesting. I seem to be fearless of radar but LIDAR freaks me out.

V1 can detect LIDAR, but it's too late when you know it.

yeah, that's why it freaks me out when L band pops on my V1! It can pick up LIDAR but it's just saying "Pull over!"

I got a ticket in the mail today for a violation last 6/24/07. Apparently they've installed a new camera at the intersection of Katella and Bloomfield (near my house) and they caught me beating out a yellow/red light. They took a snap shot of the front/back of the car as well as a zoomed in view of the driver (me ). I will try to fight it in court, because the pictures don't show the traffic light. I know the cameras go off automatically every yellow, but still it's worth a shot. I have the odds stacked against me because I'm sure they have a video archive of the incident. Oh well....

i hate intersections with cameras. there's also one by my house but i heard that it just flashes, doesnt actually take a picture. i've even been flashed a couple times, especially after making a left and there's traffic and the camera just goes off. never received anything in the mail though. im seeing much more intersections equipped with cameras nowadays. makes you think twice about running a yellow.

as long as you didnt increase and exceed the speed limit to get through, and your front bumper broke the plane of the intersection before it turned red, then you are good in court. There is a video as well when it takes your pic. Been to traffic class 2xs on them for tickets and it was all explained in detail how it works.
The sensors read your speed at a certain distance before the intersection when it turns yellow, which triggers the computer to anticipate if you will make it.

hope it helps gentlemen

oh yeah, and you CAN change lanes in the middle of intersections .... another myth we grew up in fear of.

It was my understanding that you need to break the plane of the cross-walk on the other side of the intersection before the light turns red to be in the clear.

And changing lanes in the middle of intersections is a myth I still fear.

I've been to my fair share of traffic schools.
