The first gen of software titles seem to show a trend. The content mastered for Blu-Ray seems to be of slightly lower quality than HD-DVD
nevertheless we need to look at the type of H.264/MPEG-4 AVC/VC1 compression employed... the laser structure of blu-ray is more capable at extracting information quickly enough for a heavily compressed H.264 TS... Once the encoding procedure matures, blu-ray will offer superior quality

I was in the software developmentteam of a Blu-ray recoder for Philips - Benq, so of course I've voted for Blu-Ray
haha
you sound that you don`t like the blu-ray
is this because it cost a lot more than HD to make!!!! and it will die out.
I think we all know these will not pickup becoause of the ram disk are coming,
a 1GB SD card only cost $10us now so by end of the year I think it will be $5us for 1gb.

I not I compareing the size, I compareing the price soon the rom will be so cheep that you can fit a full hd or blur ray film on a ram instend of disk.
this is what company are planing right now, all things will be on rom not not disk.
MS is planing there next OS on the Rom so you do not have to boot your computer just press the button just like a TY.

HD DVD wil win the race due to its HD DVD's containing both formats HD and reg DVD. Blueray is the new Beta...watch and see... From a consumers pointof view the HD DVD makes more sense then BLue Ray.. just my .02

This is the best HD DVD player on the market for the money right now. It upconverts to 1080P and costs only $229. I have 2 of them.

http://www.oppodigital.com/dv981hd/dv981hd_index.html

Let Sony and the other companies have at it. Oppa has figured it out and is doing extremely well with this NEW player. I suggest everyone buy one of these if you're in the market for an HD DVD player. 1080P no less!!!
