The same as in NJ from now on.

And actually we have quite good programs for criminals. We have if not the lowest, one of the lowest relapsed criminals rate in the world.

I would applaud Sweden's consistency, bc 36% would want capital punishment according to what i just read....that same consistency has not been used here.

Yeah, that's true. But it depends on how the question is asked. Even if you think that some crimes in particular should be punished by death, it's not the same as if you'd like it to be adopted by the law.

And what I write is what I think. I have not said that I'm talking for 100% of the Swedish nation. I just said that we are doing quite well here in rehabilitate criminals. But it costs money, tax money. Which some countries are not willing to pay. I think it's worth it, being able to have a more fair and safe community.

"Quote" Some resort to name calling, calling me a hypocrite. Just shows their maturity level. You don't know me, you don't know what my family has been through. You for sure don't know whether or not someone I loved was murdered or raped, which makes it easy for you to resort to this immature behavior. This is not an easy subject for those of us who have first hand experience in these matters. Have your wife, sister or daughter raped and see which side of the fence you sit.

So murders, rapists and child molesters deserve to live?? Again you are in the severe minority. We set these laws as to rules live by, to maintain order in our society. You break the rules, you pay the price, sometimes with your life. These laws are interpreted by people we call judges, gods in your words. Everyone has the same rights under these laws, some choose to ignore them, and are sentenced to death by a jury of their peers. I do, as you stated, still have an opinion. Fortunately for this country, I am still in the majority." Quote"

As someone pursuing a law degree, please don't educate on how the law is interpereted and by whom. Also, just because you may hold a belief shared by the majority doesn't make you right. Need I remind you of the Third Reich. Finally, would you be so kind as to answer my original question, what would Jesus do?

So what happens to the rapists, child molesters, murderers etc in Sweden?
pardon my ignorance.
Great question. Maybe we should also ask why these people commit this types of crimes in the first place. You know, the psychology behind it.

It's my turn to be immature, though I won't resort to name calling. I like to call it being funny

In addition to pursuing a degree in law perhaps you should take some remedial spelling classes. The correct spelling is as follows...interpret. I would recommend you pick up a vintage Speak & Spell by Texas Instruments. You could even throw it in your briefcase.

I would love to give you an answer your to question. Tomorrow, when I go to the car wash, I will ask him just exactly what he would do. Unfortunately I didn't study Spanish and I'm fairly certain he doesn't speak English. Hopefully there will be someone there to translate.

How ironic is it that if you make it to the courtroom, witnesses have to swear on the Bible. That has to drive you crazy. I hope you will be able to contain yourself in the court room and refrain from calling them hypocrites.

BOB, Don't take things personal, I'm just having fun with you. I do value your opinion though we disagree on this issue. I sincerely wish you the best with your education and success in your future career.

While I strongly support the death penalty, it has a serious flaw. Those who are executed cannot tell their buddies how bad the punishment was. Crooks, like many teen agers think they are bullet proof.

The death penalty does deter repeat crimes by those who are executed and it does satisfy the revenge emotion in many of us.

Now, if we could come up with really bad prisons, then that might be a deterrent. Think about one cell for three inmates. The inmate?s day is eight hours in your cell, eight hours hard labor and eight hours in a solitary environment. The three inmates have a swing shift rotation in this scheme.

No TV, no porn, no weights, no social contact with other inmates, no conversation to discuss what will happen ?when we get out?. And to be sure, no paroles, period, you serve your time. That might crowd up the pens but bundling the inmates in threes would compensate.

If we could achieve that, I might reconsider my thoughts about the death penalty.

If they didn't have killed Saddam, he could have given you lots of other bright methods.
