Car won't start

My Ride: 2008 528i, Space Grey, Nav, PDC, Premium, Sports, Grey Leather, Xenon, Cornering...
I was looking in the engine compartment of my car and I found this laying in there. Now that I took it out, my car won't start... Can anyone tell me where it goes or what it does?
