I need to make room for my wife's new car and need to get rid of my old 98 sebring convertible. It would need to be cleaned up a lot and I don't think I'd get much for it since its got +160k on the clock.

i did that once.. my husband had the crappiest ford bronco that didnt run well at all.. died on me all the time.. and was worth maybe 50$... we donated and wrote it off on taxes and got way more then id ever get ont he street for that piece of crap.. do it..! youll get book value

Donating your old car is a great cause. 
But the tax law has changed for how much you're allowed to write off. I believe you can only claim 50% of the book value, I can be wrong. Please do some research before writing off on your taxes.
