I'm wondering, no offense at all, why the Americans like to buy and own guns so much? I mean, there's not much use for it except hiding in your drawers or closets, and you are not planning to shoot someone, and I assume you won't be carrying the AK when you go for a meal or shopping. The only chance that you are going to use it is if someone is robbing/assaulting your house and you have to protect yourselves, but not with an AK !?!?

I'm asking this question not out of unrespect to anybody but wondering the logic behind it.
I don't understand it either and I am american.

Moderation is the key, dont unload the whole clip on the intruder, switch it to semi or single burst

I find this debate and attitude really fascinating. I can appreciate the history and amendment rights associated with bearing arms and protecting oneself, I just question if the technology of guns has somehow changed this point. The era in which these rights were entrenched did not have gun technology capable of killing about 100 people in 10 minutes. Whenever guns come up on this forum as a topic in some way I listen to both sides of the debate. Being from Canada the pro-gun argument is just something that we do not see, but I can appreach the intent and history. This forum often gives me perspective and positions that I just don't see anywhere else. And that is a really good thing.

+1

Still i agree that AK 47 is a bit too much for home protection...unless you live in the Wild Wild West and the neighbor decides to challenge you to a duel (texas law?!) or if you live in the Gaza strip.

OH OH and i forgot...unless you live in a big big big white house in Cuba! Sniff, sniff
