Is crazy you always see abort landing because it is very difficult to strighten the plane after the right turn.

Those engine strike photos are actually top ten on that website.

That's the infamous checker hill approach for the old Kai Tak airport, I was thinking about it when you say the plane goes through the city makes a sharp right turn for the approach but when you say Japan you threw me off a bit.

Kansai is build on an island that is sinking but is not at all difficult compare with Kai Tak, you can ask any older pilots who have the chance of flying to Hong Kong they will tell you Kai Tak is one of the most chanllenging airport to land.

Now Chek Lap Kok is very easy to land so no need to say anything about it.

I thought the new HK airport has one runway that entails flying right at a mountain and then turning at the last second. I seem to remember sitting in the United lounge and watching this while I was waiting for my outbound flights. Am I not recalling correctly?

Ooo Ooo Ooo Plane talk! Awww all has been said what can I add now?

I love airliners.net! hehe Oh and I have a bunch of crazy plane landing vids too... just like the one thats posted.... I actually have that too.

Thats a famous video. Shows how good those landing gears are built. The whole planes weight smashed against that left landing gear. They used that vid when they were talking about building the Airbus A380's landing gear and since that plane is soooooooooo massive one side of the landing gear must be able to take a hit just like how that 747s landing gear did.
