I think you may be on our cruise. Our cruise departs November 20th from Miami for 9 days to the Southern Caribbean.

Funny...

I'll be cruising the Western Caribbean, departing Nov28.
Nov29 will be my 40th birthday... On the Bahamas.

I'm sure Iceman or Rudy will chime in with their knowledge

Isn't it funny that I own a travel agency and have been in the business all my life and this will be my first cruise ever?

Somehow ironic...

I see you allready found your roll call.

It amazes me how many cruisers are using the forum.
In our roll call forum I allready found direct neighbour and we are >30.

Yes I found my roll call (and I hoped you liked my Avatar there ). I guess I will go to the Cruise Critic meet and greet. I understand that the cruise lines tend to treat CC members better. I am expecting a great cruise as I have yet to read a negative review from anyone who stayed in an AB Penthouse Suite.

40 is a major milestone. Mine is coming up in 2011. I am not looking forward to it but the alternative is much much worse.

The Cruise Critic forum seems pretty darned good. I am finding a lot of useful stuff there.

Completely ironic...

It's like owning a car dealership but not having a driver's license!

Truly an amzing forum to find tons of useful, and some useless , infos.

We'll stay in a brand new category. They just added two brand new suites, the deluxe penthouse suites, right on top of the bridge, and the wing over the bridge is the balcony. The suite has windows to the front...

LIBERTY SS Deluxe Penthouse Suites (9199 and 9200)

Deluxe Penthouse Suites
The Conquest-class ships will have a new category added to them over time. The ?SS? category will consist of two Deluxe Penthouse Suites. The Carnival Liberty is the first of the Conquest-class ships to have this new category added and will be for sale at the end of September. Following drydock of the Carnival Liberty in October, the two Deluxe Penthouse Suites will be incorporated into the ship?s forward section on Lido Deck 9. The Suites will be available for occupancy on the 11/01/08 cruise.

Suite 9200 (on the Port side) and 9199 (on the Starboard side) will feature a brand new stateroom configuration, encompassing more than 750 square feet (approximately 500 interior/250 exterior) and accommodating up to five guests. The Deluxe Penthouse Suites will feature a separate bedroom, expansive living area and large balcony.

Separate bedroom (approximately 221 square feet)
Twin/King beds with Carnival Comfort bed sleep system
Full bathroom with sink, toilet and whirlpool bathtub/shower
Walk-in closet
Living area (approximately 291 square feet)

Sofabed and 2 uppers
Mini Bar
Full bathroom with sink, toilet and Junior tub/shower
Balcony (approximately 258 square feet)
Can't wait.
And my family can't wait for it too, since they will live in my home while I'm on vacation.
They look forward to use my hot tub and home cinema.

I'll be scuba diving the week before my cruise in Key Largo.
After the cruise I'll stay two nights in Key West.

I'm not a big fan of Cruises, but this year, my wife and I took my in-laws on Norwegian for their 40th anniversary. I took the Norweigan Gem (their newest ship to the Fleet) in February, out of NY Harbor for 10 days to the Carribean to visit 5 islands. It's one of the best cruise liners in the world. Why? 2 words...Freestyle Cruising. It's a brilliant idea that I'm sure many other top liners are going to soon follow. Look it up, if you don't know what that is. Once you try it, you'll never want to go with another company again. It's brilliant marketing.

Carnival is ghetto. We took some clients on Carnival in 2000 and I'd rather shoot myself than ever go back on a Carnival ship.

Stay on the upper decks (Floors 11 or 12) and get a Suite with a balcony. It's the only way to roll.

PS - I gambled so much in their casino, they invited my wife and I back for a free trip again this coming February (Same ship, same dates...only difference is no Barbados. Puerto Rico, Antigua, St. Thomas, St. Maartin and Tortola). We gladly accepted.

I don't plan on leaving my suite much... I have all I need in range... Deck 9, where the food is 24/7...

Ice, is your family going to help moderate here while you're gone?

They'll be too busy using the hot tub and watching movies...

I heard they do have internet access on board, but it's a bit pricey...

We'll see, I somehow need to be in touch with office anyways, so probably I'll be around... but not on my 40th for sure. I'll be enjoying it w/o phones and computers on the Bahamas.

We are staying on Deck 11 -- the Penthouse Deck on the Dawn. Ours is the big family suite with a balcony. The only bigger suite are the two garden villa suites which go for about $50,000 for 2 people and they have 5,500 square feet. While staying in one of those would be the dream, they are way out of our price range. The AB Penthouse looks pretty nice and I just hope that Victor enjoys it.

Yes the freestyle concept attracted me to Norwegian and I just loved the itineray of our cruise. Our ports of all are Samana, Tortola, Antigua, Barbados and St. Kitts.

I guess I have to try gambling in their casino. But I am pretty risk-adverse so I doubt that I would ever gamble enough to garner a free invite.
